I’m taking a fascinating course right now with Dr. Rich Blundell. He holds a PhD in Cosmic Evolution, and he’s passionate about reconnecting us with an understanding that the cosmos, from as far back as we are able to trace it (13.8 billion years) up to this moment in time, is the result of emergent relationships creating new iterations along an infinite continuum.
He says: “The reason we are in such chaos right now is because we have lost touch with the ontological continuity of the cosmos. This has us feel alienated, separate, like we don’t belong, which creates unease, anxiety, fear and disconnection.
When you don’t feel at home, you try to create that home in a more palpable way and one of the ways we do that is by trying to fill that hole with stuff. With material, with power, with wealth, with whatever.
When we piece the story of this grand continuum of the universe back together, when we understand how deeply interconnected everything is, it creates a sense of belonging and possibility. Suddenly we’re home.”
Trust Creativity To Lead You
As an artist and coach I love working with the shifting patterns of aliveness moving in and around us. It’s intriguing how they constantly emerge, interact and re-emerge as something we’ve never experienced before.
Life—home in the truest sense of the word—is not a stationary place. It is infinitely rearranging itself in relationship with what’s come before, and what is emerging now.
Rich goes on to say: “It feels right to be in right relationship with the creative intelligence of cosmos. Right relationship means you are listening deeply and participating in that creativity.”
In my experience not participating in creativity feels like resisting, arguing with, or acting contrary to whatever is arising in the moment. It’s fixating on what I want to be here (that isn’t) instead of opening to create with what actually is.
When we trust our imagination and stay curious about what could be, there’s no dead-end to possibility.
In the vast expanse of the cosmos, a symphony of creation unfolds endlessly. It is ever-evolving and ever-expanding. Each celestial body, from the twinkling stars to the majestic galaxies, plays its part in this cosmic orchestra. Energy swirls and matter collides, giving birth to new worlds and extinguishing old ones, only to begin anew.
The cosmos is a master of reinvention. And therefore, so are you.
