THE MANDALA PROJECT - How it came to life

If you know someone whose day would be brightened by this Mandala, please pass it along! Even more magical, with a love note from you!

The Mandala Project: #43

This Mandala had been relegated to the cutting room floor. It was created as one possible version that led to the final iteration: “Oracle” (Mandala #42). But nearly two years later, I’m seeing time is an interesting medium that’s an essential player in the creative process.

Scrolling back through images on the search for the next mandala in line to be posted, this one pulled me back in for reconsideration and craftily changed my mind.

It offered a question about storms and how we hold them when they land in our being.

Storms are big, sometimes epically so, and almost always feel contrary to peace and ease. But while they seem to disrupt our rhythm and flow, the very nature of them is a vibrant aliveness. This can help instill trust that the force of them is a necessary, essential part of our lives.

The strong, all-caps “storm” element in this mandala partnering with the lyrical, flowing plant and bird notes strike me as a reminder that we are never weathering storms alone. We have allies at our side.

I noticed it also has the quality of an insignia, so I looked it up:

An INSIGNIA is a badge of authority or honour. Which got me thinking…

What if inner storms are the authors of what matters most to us, disrupters of unconsciousness that lead to clarity about what in our lives wants to honoured now?
