THE MANDALA PROJECT - How it came to life

If you know someone whose day would be brightened by this Mandala, please pass it along! Even more magical, with a love note from you!

The Mandala Project: #40

In a presentation several years ago, I heard evolutionary cosmologist Brian Swimme share that the Universe is continually expanding from every point in it.

“Ohhh - that explains everything…” was my thought at the time, and it’s influenced my perception of what it means to be here ever since.

More recently I’ve been studying the teachings of Thomas Hübl. His work focuses on healing personal and collective trauma, and weaves together the realms of science and ancient wisdom in a super compelling way.

One of his concepts that I find especially resonant is that life can be divided into three primary aspects:

  1. Space (from which everything emerges)

  2. Energy (information and movement)

  3. Structure (how energy or potentiality becomes a physical structure)

Nothing can exist without space, but we rarely consider its significance. We mostly disregard it, or think of it as something to be filled, unaware that it’s presence is essential to the creation of everything in the manifest world.

Energy is being born out of space. As an impulse ignites and is supported in expanding, it becomes a moving energy that creates connections and ultimately a structure to flow through.

This is how everything is born into being. Nothing gives birth to something. Being gives birth to becoming.

“The flow from potential into manifestation, the translation of energy into structure, is our deepest nature as human beings.” - Thomas Hübl

We’re Designed To Flow

I love this teaching, and it got me thinking:

Since we each are one of the expanding points in the Universe, and our experiences are expanding points as well, it follows that navigating through your life isn’t at all linear. It isn’t beginning at a fixed point (birth) and arriving at an end point (death).

Rather it’s a circular, spiralling, evolving experience of moving outward from your centre, meeting every other wave of expansion coming into your field and co-creating with it.

When you trust that you are in an unfolding, emergent process of becoming, in partnership with the infinite becoming of the Universe, what shifts?

Instead of the personality self you know so well, what’s possible if you imagine you are in the process of becoming something new in each moment?

That’s some serious magic.

While gathering links for Thomas and Brian, I came across this wonderful conversation between the two of them on the parallels between the powerful force that emerges when we integrate our trauma, and the one that animates the continually emerging cosmos.
